Forward As One CE Academy Trust

Welcome to Gorsefield Primary School

At Gorsefield Primary School, we are proud to have a dedicated and experienced leadership team who work together to ensure every child receives the very best education, care and opportunities to thrive.

Our Head Teacher, Mrs Onyekaba, has overall responsibility for the strategic leadership and vision of the school. Alongside leading Gorsefield, Mrs Onyekaba also serves as a Regional Improvement Lead for Forward As One Church of England Academy Trust, supporting and sharing best practice across the Trust to help improve outcomes for children.

Our Head of School, Mrs Paice, leads the day-to-day life of Gorsefield and is a familiar and welcoming presence throughout the school. Working closely with our children, staff and families, Mrs Paice oversees the daily running of the school, ensuring that Gorsefield remains a happy, safe and inspiring place where every child can Learn without Limits.

A message from Mrs Onyekaba: Head Teacher

It is my great privilege to welcome you to Gorsefield Primary School.

As Head Teacher, I am incredibly proud to lead our wonderful school in partnership with Forward As One Church of England Academy Trust, supported by an exceptional team of dedicated teachers, support staff and leaders who are passionate about helping every child flourish.

At Gorsefield, we believe every child deserves the very best education in a school where they feel safe, valued, inspired and challenged every single day. As a thriving two-form entry primary school with an integrated nursery for children aged 2 to 11, we are proud to serve the heart of our local community, building strong relationships with our families and creating a genuine sense of belonging.

At Gorsefield, our mission is simple but ambitious: Inspire, Challenge, Excel: to inspire and challenge all children and adults to excel in everything they do- not only throughout their time at Gorsefield, but well beyond their primary education. We believe there should be no limits to what our children, staff and wider community can achieve.

Our bespoke Learning without Limits Curriculum has been designed by our own staff specifically for the children and families we serve. It provides intentional, meaningful learning experiences that encourage every child to embrace challenge, overcome barriers and celebrate their individuality.

Leadership is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that everyone is a leaders, regardless of title: from our youngest pupils to our senior leaders, every member of Team Gorsefield is taught meaningful leadership experiences, working collaboratively, making sustained impact within our school, our Trust and the wider community.

Partnership with families is one of our greatest strengths. We know children achieve their very best when home and school work together and we are proud of the welcoming relationships we have built with our parents and carers. Our popular Learn Alongside sessions provide opportunities for families to experience classroom learning first-hand and see how we truly enable every child to Learn without Limits.

Above all, Gorsefield is a caring and inclusive school and as a proud UNICEF UK Silver Rights Respecting School, we are committed to embedding the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into everyday school life, ensuring that every child feels valued, heard and empowered.

Whether you are a prospective parent, a member of our local community or simply interested in learning more about our school, I hope our website gives you a flavour of what makes Gorsefield such a special place.

We warmly welcome visitors and would be delighted to show you around our school. No appointment is necessary- simply call in, or get in touch if you would like to speak with a member of our team.
